Mary N. Davidson
Age 85 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022.
Mary was born and raised in New Castle. She graduated valedictorian of St. Peter High School in 1955. After graduation she went to work for DuPont as a secretary. On November 2, 1963, Mary married the love of her life, Franklin Davidson. Together they shared almost 60 years of love and happiness. She retired from the work force to raise her daughter.
Mary was the ultimate volunteer. She was always willing to give her time to those in need including A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital. She was a devout catholic and member of Holy Child R.C. Church for many years. Mary loved to bowl and was a part of many bowling leagues. She was still playing into her late 70s and was still the best on her team. But most of all Mary loved her family, she will be dearly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Barbara (Copper) Nutter, and her siblings, Barbara, David, and George. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her daughter, Catherine Dobres (Edward); and her grandchildren, Devon, Shannon, and Danielle. Mary is also survived by her siblings, Pauline Gambacorta (Anthony) and Dr. James Nutter (Karen), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Mary at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, on Tuesday, Jan 3, at 11:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00am-11:00am Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
