Mary Anne Doto
Age 90 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023.
Mary was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. She attended St. Ann and St Thomas Grade Schools. She
was a proud 1951 graduate of Wilmington High School.
Mary was a hard worker her entire life. She went to work right after high school, first at Bell Telephone
and at the VA Hospital in Elsmere. In the 1960s Mary moved to New York City and worked at various law
firms as a legal secretary. She was passionate about her work but wanted to return home to be closer to
her family. Mary continued her law career in Wilmington working for the law firms of Bader, Dorsey, and
Kreshtool and William J. Wier, Jr. & Associates before her retirement in 2003.
Mary was known best for her love of travel, music, and trips to the casinos. She loved visiting new cities,
listening to her favorite musician Elvis, reading books, and trying her luck on the slot machines. But most
of all Mary loved her family. She was a wonderful and caring big sister to her five siblings, and a doting
aunt and second grandmother to her many nieces and nephews.
She will be especially missed by her niece, Allison Krauss Randall, whom she raised and was a mother to,
and her great nieces with whom she lived, Caitlyn and Madison Randall. Caitlyn and Madison loved her
and considered her as their "Grammy." The three of them lovingly cared for their Meme throughout the
years.
Mary is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Krauss, Judy Krauss, Linda Clark, and Joe Krauss (Anne),
her nieces and nephews, Andrea, Mac, Megan, Dan, and Jilly, and many loving great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Krauss, and brother, Charles F. Krauss (Carol).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New
Rd., Wilm., DE, on Wednesday, Dec 20 at 12:00pm. Friends may call at the church from 11:00am-
12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Mary's name to St. Jude's Children
Hospital, www.stjude.org.
