Mary Theresa Gaworski

Age 73 of Wilmington

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Mary was born in New Castle to the late John and Mary (McCaffery) Gaworski. She was a proud graduate of St. Peter's High School and went onto study accounting at Goldey Beacom College. Mary always had a knack for numbers and put her skill to good use at Brandywine Chrysler Dodge, where she was a dedicated bookkeeper for over 30 years.

Mary was a devout Catholic and member of St. Peter the Apostle Church as well as St. Hedwigs Church in her later years. She was always willing to volunteer her time and talents to better her church community. Mary also enjoyed the parish sanctioned bus and mission trips and the friends she made through the programs.
Mary was an animal lover, always showering her dog, Buddy, and cat, Angel with affection. She loved to travel near and far and was always up to try a new restaurant. But most of all Mary loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Gaworski, Kenny Gaworski, and John Gaworski.

She will be dearly missed by her nieces, Karen Wrightson (Ryan), Donna Smith (Nick), and Beth Gaworski; her nephews, Frank Gaworski (Ivy) and John Paul Gaworski; her great nieces and nephews, Sarah Santore, Zac Santore, Jenna Wrightson, Nick Smith, Kayla Smith, Olivia Smith, Morgan Gaworski, and Madison Gaworski; and three great great nieces. Mary is also survived by her brother, Paul Gaworski (Wanda).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE, on Friday, Oct 11 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery.
