Mary Grenfell, age 98, of Glasgow, DE, formerly of Canby Park, Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on November 6, 2010. Mary was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed playing shuffleboard for many years with the Eagles Club and spending summers at her home in Slaughter Beach, DE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; a son, Francis Long; and a granddaughter, Lisa Guthrie. She is survived by her son, William "Buffy" Grenfell and his wife Suzanne, with whom she lived; her daughter, Joanne "Judy" Guthrie and her husband Conrad; grandchildren, Melissa and Kelsey Grenfell, John and Mark Guthrie, and Sharon Ann LaBelle. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; and many devoted extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Wednesday, November 10th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
