Mary Ann Elizabeth Hogan
Age 87 of Wilmington, DE
Passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025.
Mary Ann was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Paul and Mary (Berta) Nagy. She enjoyed her childhood growing up in Wilmington with her siblings. Mary Ann was a proud 1955 graduate of AI DuPont High School. Mary Ann also attended Widner University and put her education to good use working for many years in the DuPont legal department. While there, on a company softball team, Mary Ann met the love of her life, John P. Hogan. Together they spent 42 happy years raising their family. Mary Ann also spent several years as a legal secretary at Potter, Anderson, and Corroon before returning to DuPont.
Mary Ann was the ultimate matriarch. She loved caring and cooking for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress and even made many dresses and tuxedos that family members wore for their weddings. She was an avid bowler and a life member of the Five Points Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, serving as the President of the Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Hogan; her grandson, James T. Flowers; and siblings Paul Nagy, Helen Blyman and John Nagy.
Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her children, Therese Flowers and husband Jimmy, Margaret Yoder and husband Mike, Maureen Hogan, and John Hogan and wife Cathrine. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Kristine Winner and husband Josh, Sean Yoder and wife Amy, Casey Yoder, John J. Hogan, Grace Hogan, Benjamin Hogan, and Rayna Hogan. Great grandchildren Alyssa Winner, Brynn Winner, Kyndal Yoder, Jackson Yoder, and Slate Yoder.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Road, Wilmington, DE on Thursday, July 3 at 10:00am. Viewing at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805, will be held on Wednesday, Jul 2 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Mary Ann's name to the Five Points Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 209 S. Maryland Ave., Wilm., DE 19804 or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
