Marie T. MacDowell

Age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Newark, on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was having her family and loved ones around her.

She was a member of Corpus Christi R. C. Church for over 50 years and was involved in all the activities of her church.

Marie was the daughter of the late John and Mary Pilkington. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Stanley R. MacDowell, her son, Richard J. MacDowell, her grandson, Stephen MacDowell, and her great-granddaughter, Morgan.

She is survived by her children, Eileen McCall, Susan Collins, Michael MacDowell (Stephanie), and Joseph MacDowell (Deborah); her grandchildren, Jimmy, J.P., Kristin, Erica, Michael, Kevin, Joanne, Joey; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Aubrey, T.J., Jordan, and Kaeleigh.


Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends may call at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Friday evening, April 11, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
