Mary Jane "Marie" Schenk
Age 90 of Wilmington, DE
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, November 7, 2016.
Marie was employed as a Senior Computer Operator at Bank of Delaware for over 20 years.
She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, Scrabble, and Sudokus; however Marie's favorite puzzles where those that tested her math skills. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach, whether she was walking in the sand, swimming, or fishing, some of her best times where spent there.
Marie was preceded in death by her dear husband, George Schenk in 1976; her daughter, Eva A. Carr; sisters, Eleanor Murphy and Margaret Rogers; and brothers, Joseph Rogers and Edward Rogers.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Edward J. Denny, Mary Jane Burtell, Harold F. Denny, John, P. Denny, and Elizabeth F. Hood; and her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie is also survived by her sister, Eva Mytko.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved R.C. Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilm., DE 19808, on Friday, November 11 at 1:00 pm. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Friday, November 11 from 11:30am-12:30pm. Interment will take place in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Marie's name to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, Newark, DE 19711.
