Maryann Kinney, 69, of Naples, FL (formerly of Newark, DE) passed away suddenly on October 17, 2012.
Born in South Amboy, NJ on June 22, 1943, Maryann was the daughter of the late Leo Grella and Mary Ferenci Grella.
Before retiring, Maryann enjoyed a 27 year career with DuPont where she started out as a secretary and worked her way up to planning events for her business division. Through the years she was an avid crafter and also enjoyed word search, crossword puzzles and 1000 piece puzzles. In retirement, Maryann chaired the effort in her community to write and publish a cookbook and worked part time as a travel agent specializing in Disney vacations.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Kinney; daughter, Sharon Kinney of Wilmington, DE; son, Patrick Kinney and his wife Lorri, of Clayton, DE; three grandchildren, Courtney Kinney, Patrick Kinney, Jr. and Darian Kinney; sister, Joan Sokoloski and her husband Edward, of South River, NJ; two nephews, Edward Sokoloski, Jr. (Lorraine) and Stephen Sokoloski (Lisa); and her beloved Sheltie, Ginger.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 from 9 am to 12 noon at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday afternoon at 12:30 pm at St. John the Beloved Roman Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark, DE.
