Michael Francis Catts, Sr., age 64 of New Castle, DE went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Mike was a 1967 graduate of William Penn High School. In 1968, he began his 40 year career as a Union Carpenter, spending 32 years out of Local 626, in New Castle, DE and 8 years out of the Carpenter's Union in Charleston, WV before retiring in 2008.

He was the current President of the Terrace Athletic Club. Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as his time spent in White Crystal Beach, MD and Charleston, WV.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth; stepson, Michael K. Davis; brother, Tim Catts; and brother in-law, Robert Laughlin.

He is survived by his son, Michael Jr. (Jessica); daughter, Jennifer Durham; ex-wife and loving friend, Diane Hatfield Zencak; three grandchildren, Hunter, Abigail, and Quinn; brother, Dave Catts (Joan); sisters, Sarah Catts and Elaine Laughlin; sister-in-law, Amy Catts; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle, on Monday, July 28, at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be private.
