"The Michael J. Jordan" (not the basketball player), passed at the age of age 74,
at the VA Medical Center in Wilmington, DE on Sunday July 19, 2020.

Michael J. Jordan was born on August 13, 1945 in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware to the late Robert Patrick Jordan and Regina Ellen Jordan born in New Castle County, Delaware.

He was a graduate from the Salesianum High School.
After graduation, he directly signed up to join the army.

"Sergeant Michael J. Jordan (E5 Grade)" was part of the "1ST Reconnaissance Squadron 11TH Armored Cavalry Regiment" and received an Installation Clearance Record which noted "Excellent Conduct & Efficiency" from Bary F. Graham, Captain Armor Officer. He also was part of the "3RD Reconnaissance Squadron 12th Cavalry" 3RD Armored Division ( Spearhead)", and received an Installation Clearance Record which also noted ``Excellent Conduct & Efficiency'' from Arthur L. Nest, lll, CPT, Armor, Commanding Officer. During his three (3) years of service in the ARMY, he received at least 9 Recognition Awards, as well as Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and as a Sharpshooter. In addition, on January 20, 1965 he received a "Letter of Appreciation from Donald P. Boyer, Jr., Colonel, Armor Commanding Officer of the Headquarters, 11TH Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

After Michael's years of services in the Army, he worked for the Delaware Department of Transportation, until he became a "Union Ironworker at Local 451".

"Michael J. Jordan worked as a "Connector Union Ironworker at Local 451" for 35 years. He worked throughout Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Michael J. Jordan is survived by his wife, Ann-Marie Jordan of Dover, DE; his daughter, Lauren M. Jordan, of Spruce Pine, N. C.; and his granddaughter, Alexus M. Jordan, of Raleigh, N. C.; his son, Michael J. Jordan, ll, of Wilmington, DE; and his stepchildren, Sara J. Baranski (Andrew D. Baranski), of Newark, DE, J. Caine Kubala, of Dover, DE and Londa L. Kubala (Brenton Wheeler), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and many grandchildren; his sister, "Betty" Elizabeth Jean Resini ("Sonny" Andrew V. Resini) of Pottstown, PA, and brother, "Whitey" Robert P. Jordan (Cathy Jordan) of Parrish, FL.

There are many heartbreaks caused from Michael J. Jordan's passing that will be endured...I must note, "Rest In Peace My Love…"

On Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11:00am, family and friends are welcome to attend "Michael J. Jordan's Military Funeral Honors Ceremony" at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701. (off 896). Following the service. the family welcomes all relatives and friends to join us in "The Celebration of Michael's J. Jordan's Life" at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) 100 Veterans Drive, Newark, DE 19711.
