Michael A. McKeon "Goofus"

Age 33, passed away suddenly on February 16, 2011 surrounded by family. Michael was born November 26, 1977 and was raised and resided in Elsmere, Delaware. Michael was the son of Frank and Margaret McKeon of Elsmere, DE, the middle son of 4 brothers. Michael was a graduate of Howard High School in Wilmington (class of 96').

Michael enjoyed many activities and above all, he enjoyed helping others. In addition to working as a freight hauler and a bus driver Michael enjoyed volunteering at Compassionate Care Hospice. Michael enjoyed giving his time talking, listening and being a friend to patients. Michael was also a hero to people that he never met by being a successful organ donor.

When not volunteering or working, he would always be helping his family and friends with countless projects ranging from working on houses to babysitting. He was a Boy Scout with Troop 54 and enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and travel.

In addition to his surviving parents, Michaels is survived by his Aunt Nancy McKeon of Aston, PA and his 3 brothers, Frank & Katie McKeon of Newark, DE, Brian & Lindsey McKeon of Charlotte, NC, and Bill McKeon & Kelly Dudek of Elsmere, DE.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere on Tuesday morning, February 22 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Monday evening, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 4010 Concord Road, Aston, PA.
