Michele "Shelly" Abbott

Age 47, went home to the Lord, after a brief illness, on Saturday, February 12, 2011.
Shelly was born in Wilmington, DE. She graduated St. Thomas grade school and A.I. Dupont High School. She had worked as an assistant underwriter in the insurance industry and also the News Journal in the marketing department.

Shelly was preceded in death by her brother David Abbott in 2008. She is survived by her sons, J. Rick Bromwell and his wife Allison, and Michael Abbott, also her mother Dorothy Halverson and husband Don Halverson, her father Gene Abbott and wife Regina Marsilii Abbott, her brother Gene Abbott III, loving Grandmother Ann Abbott, her Uncles Ray and his wife Margie, Dennis and Richard Abbott, her Aunt Ann Pinghera, Uncle and Aunt Jim and Jeannette Brown. She is also survived by nieces Lauren, Kimberly, and Heather "Pretty Girl; nephews Brian, Steven, Logan, Kevin and Nick, cousin Kim Baranowski, who was like a sister to her, and husband Stan, and many more cousins and friends too numerous to count.

Shelly had a "larger than life" personality and will never be forgotten by all of us who knew her and loved her especially by her Uncle Dennis and friends at the Green Gate doing karoke and dancing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle R. C. Church, 301 North Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington, on Friday, February 18th at 10:30a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday evening February 17th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
