Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sun, Aug 2, 2015.
Nancy was raised in Elsmere and was a graduate of Conrad HS.
She loved spending time with her family and friends at Homestead Campground. She was known for her sweet and funny personality. She collected penguins and frogs. She enjoyed playing slots at DE Park and laughing and joking with friends at the local bar in Minquadale.
Nancy's grandchildren will miss Mom-Mom's world famous chicken and dumplings.
Through her lifetime battle with juvenile RA, Nancy was always helping others and wanting everyone to be happy. She was the most selfless person. Her love for her family was truly unconditional, and she brought joy into their lives daily. She was one of a kind, an exception to every rule, and was loved by many across the generations. Life will not be the same without the heart of our family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin J. Cline and Dorothy M. Cline; her husband, Austin B. Buchanan, Jr.; her son, Austin B. Buchanan, III; and her brother, Alvin J. Cline, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Hope Buchanan (Ted), and Sherry Buchanan (Ronnie), both of New Castle, and Darnell Smith (Rob) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Sarah, Sheyanne, and Tyler Buchanan, Chloe Messick, Theodore, Jr., and Alanna Chapman, all of New Castle, Derrick, Drake, and Duke Smith, all of Wilmington; her great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jr. and Austin Walls, and Sophia Buchanan; her sister, Linda Sharp, of Millsboro; and her brother, John Cline, of FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy, Elsmere, on Tues, Aug 11, at 12:30 pm. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tues morning from 10:30-12:30 pm. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
