Obituary

Nancy Spanich
"Gee"

Age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

She was employed by Sears Credit for many years until her retirement in 1987.

Nancy loved going to Delaware Park with her best friend Cass. She also looked forward to her annual first week of August beach vacation to North Bethany with her daughters and friends.

She loved the Phillies and the 76ers and one of her greatest highlights was to see Alan Iverson play in person.

For her 70th Birthday her daughters surprised her with a Carnival Cruise that she was still talking about 5 years later.

Basically Nancy was a friend to everyone she ever met.

Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren to whom no sacrifice was too great.

When her children were younger she was always supportive and involved in their education and extracurricular activities. She continued this tradition with her grandsons, Tim and Patrick by always being in the stands for them as they played baseball for Newark National Little League and MOT Little League and basketball at St. Hedwig's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al on August 3rd 1987.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan Drejka (Joe) of Middletown, DE, Kathy Spanich of Wilmington, DE, Becky Rinehart (Sandy Winston) of Cuyagos, CA; Roger Mauger (Graceanne) of New Jersey; her two grandsons whom she adored, Tim Drejka and his fiance Shannon Skrzat of Millsboro DE, Patrick Drejka of Middletown, DE; and special sister-in-law, Marie Prichard of Lafayette Hills, PA.

She will be sorely missed at Tim and Shannons wedding in September 2011 but we know she be there for them in spirit.

Not only was Nancy blessed by the love of her daughters, son-in-law and grandsons, she was surrounded by extended family members and friends that include
her step-grandson, Joe Drejka and his wife Jeannette, and their children, Joey, Justin, and Jenna and her long time best friend Cass Coleman and husband Ronald.

Thank you to Amani Guernsey who we have entrusted the care of Gee's precious cat, Lucy Lu Lu.

Thank you to Sherry, Billy, and Mary for always being great neighbors to Nancy.

Her family would like to thank everyone at Christiana Hospital and Wilmington Hospital who took such great care of her, especially the 5th Floor and the 5th Floor ICU.
Special thanks to Dr. Kripalu and Nicole Scott who we feel had a great connection with her.
