Obituary

Age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Christiana Hospital.
Norma grew up in Lakewood, Ohio and attended Lakewood High School. She went on to earn her Bachelors degree in Education at Baldwin-Wallace Collage in Berea, OH. She started her masters studies at George Washington University which is when she met her first husband Donald. After Don earned his degree in dentistry from Georgetown University, Norma and Don were married and they then moved to Puerto Rico with the Air Force where they began their family.
Norma spent many years working for Weight Watchers and then worked for Wachovia Bank as a teller for several years. Over her lifetime she was involved with many organizations and activities including, Outreach, AAUW, both Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, Meals on Wheels and supporting her children in all their activities. Norma was a long time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
There were many great times with summer vacations to Cape May and the regular Sunday dinners at home that turned into day long events and always brought the family and friends together. In addition to the fun and loving times spent with the family, there were many fond memories spent with the Irish Gang, the ladies of Timberlane and with her Jazzercise class.
She was the daughter of the late Woodard and Vera (White) Hartick. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Donald E. Davis; second husband, Dr. Lawrence F. Conlin; and her son, Paul W. Davis. She is survived by her brother, William Hartrick of Oakland, CA; her daughter in law, Darlene Slaughter, Newark, DE; son, George F. Newberry-Davis and wife Jan of Lawton, OK; daughter, Carol A. Davis and husband Len of Wilmington, DE; son, Mark E. Davis and partner Kenneth H. McMullen of Long Pond, PA; son, John B. Davis New Castle, DE; and three grandchildren, Christina L. Mulford, Emma Newberry-Davis and Andrew Newberry-Davis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington on Thursday, June 3, at 12 noon. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Wed. June 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday morning at Immaculate Heart of Mary R. C. Church. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
