Patricia A. Hyland, Age 73, of Middletown, DE, passed away on December 18, 2025, after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Wilmington to the late Arthur and Helen Hyland. She attended De La Warr High School and received a Certificate of Attendance in 1970.

When visiting her family, Patty would worship at Holy Spirit Church in New Castle, DE.

She recently attended Chimes Delaware Day Program where she enjoyed making beaded jewelry, arts and crafts, and spending time with her friends.

Patty was an inspiration to everyone she met, greeting each person with a smile or a hug. Her favorite activity was shopping and then stopping at Chic-fil-A. Patty will be remembered as a happy, fun-loving lady that loved watching Cops and The Golden Girls on television along with her lifelong crush on Donny Osmond.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Caroll and her brother, Arthur, Jr.

Patty will be dearly missed by her sisters, Deborah Lester of Pinellas Park FL, Mary Williams (Herman) of Middletown DE; her brothers, Charles (Faith) of Elkton MD, and Robert "Ed" (Kimberly) of New Castle DE. She is also survived by her second family that deeply loved and cared for her, Janeen McCowin and her husband, Terrance; son, Gabe of Middletown DE, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and aunts.

Family and Friends are invited to attend Celebration of Life Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Monday, December 29 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00am – 11:00am. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE.

The family invites you to wear something purple, Patty's signature color, to her service.
