Patricia Ann Leonard (Marcozzi), age 83, passed away on June 23rd, 2024.
She was born at the Memorial Hospital in Wilmington on June 2nd, 1941, to Mary T. (Orsini) and John C. Marcozzi.
Patti grew up in New Castle (Shawtown). She graduated from St. Peter's High School and Goldey Beacom School of Business with an AA degree.
She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Joseph J. Leonard, Jr., On August 18th, 1962. She and her husband were transferred many times, living in Ohio, Illinois, and California. They returned to Delaware in 1994 to retire. He, from Hewlett Packard and she, from Nationwide Insurance. She was very artistic and won many blue ribbons at the Ohio and Illinois State Fairs. Patti was a member of St. Gabe's Italian Club as well as St. Anthony's of which her grandfather was a founder. She cherished the friendships made there and loved to participate in bocce ball games and tournaments. Patti loved to bake and cook and passed this tradition on to her grandsons who helped make pasta and pizzelle.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Christopher, grandsons Jacob and Daniel. Brother Carl (Jane) Marcozzi. Brother-in-laws Edward, Thomas (Chuck), Larry and Mark (Junko) Leonard. Sister-in-law Karen Leonard (Dennis). And many more family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, Delaware 19720, on Friday, Jun 28 at 11:00am. Visitation for family and friends begins at 10 am.
The burial will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear 19701.
