Patricia Anne McCaffery
WILMINGTON - Age 84-
Passed away peacefully at Wilmington Hospital on Friday, January 12, 2018.
Pat was born September 12, 1933 to John A. and Margaret M, (Long) Mulshenock in Wilmington DE. She graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in 1951, and looked forward to the last Tuesday of the month lunch gatherings with her classmates. She married her best friend Frank on November 14, 1953. After raising her family, she went back to work as an office assistant for the Delaware Superior Court, and retired in 1995.
Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed the daily crossword puzzle, Jeopardy, playing pinochle, and watching the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and bake year-round but especially during the holidays, and enjoyed pie day and cookie day even more so when her grandchildren were helping. Her happiest times were being covered in flour and sharing love with her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, John A. Mulshenock Sr. and Margaret M. (Long) Mulshenock; her husband, Francis Joseph McCaffery; her son, John Aloysius McCaffery; and brothers, John A. Mulshenock, Jr., and Richard J. Mulshenock, Sr. She is survived by her children, Michael (Barbara), Kathleen Nemeth, Jerome (Nancy), Eileen Bowers, Francis, James, Theresa (David) Burch; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marie O'Neill (George); her brother, Daniel Mulshenock; sister-in-law, Cecilia Hoopes; brother-in-law, Leonard Jezyk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 12 noon at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 301 N. Bancroft Pkwy. Wilmington, DE 19805. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 12 noon.
