Patricia Ann Rash, age 70, of Elsmere passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with health challenges.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 17, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Olen A. Rash and Mary P. Rash (Konowal). She was the adoring “Big Sis” to Paul A Rash. She was known for her strong work ethic, for the deep care, she showed her parents as they aged and the special bond she had with her brother Paul. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her only daughter, Jennifer, and a cherished mother-in-law to Michael DeLuca, whom she loved as her own son.

Always willing to help others in any way she could, she lived a life rooted in kindness and generosity. Raised in Elsmere, she was well known for her creative spirit and love of crafting, especially crocheting. She had a gift for making others feel like family, and to many, she truly was.

She enjoyed baking, spending time with her loved ones, and, most of all, being surrounded by her family and her pets. She always had a pup close by, often resting contently in her lap. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply, especially her granddaughters, Alyssa and Gianna DeLuca who brought her great joy and pride. Supportive and caring, she was a constant source of comfort to her friends and served as a mother figure to many whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer L. DeLuca (Michael); her grandchildren, Alyssa and Gianna DeLuca; beloved sister of Paul A Rash (MaryBeth); precious Aunt to Renee Birney (Ryan), Rachel Beringer (Rick), Andrew Rash (Justine), Russel O’Neill, Zachary O’Neill (Lauren); Great Aunt to Mila and Kellan Birney, Avery and Connor Beringer, and Gavin O’Neill. As well as many “kids” who loving called her “Mama Rash”.

Relatives and friends are invited to viewing for Patty on Thursday, April 9 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, with funeral service to begin at 1:00pm. Interment will take place privately.
