Paul Anthony Hawkins, age 68, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born on October 20, 1957, he was a proud product of the Wilmington community, having been raised there and later graduating from Conrad High School in 1975. Paul dedicated his professional life to the construction industry, serving as a skilled carpenter at DiSabatino and Breslin Construction until his retirement in 2023. His commitment to his craft was evident in the many projects he contributed to throughout his career. An avid sports enthusiast, Paul was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, as well as the University of Notre Dame. He cherished the joyful moments spent playing baseball and indulging in friendly competition through football pools. Above all, Paul's family was the centerpiece of his life. He found immense joy in his role as a father and grandfather, embracing every opportunity to create cherished memories with his beloved grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Sophia Hawkins, and John and Helen Faragher; his parents, Benjamin and Patricia (Faragher) Hawkins; an infant son; his uncle, Joey Hawkins; his dog Duke.
He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Andria Hawkins (Bryan Pressey) and Patricia Hawkins; grandchildren, Donte Hayes, Deziree Hayes, and Laia Diarra; and a great-grandchild on the way. Paul is also survived by his partner, Allison Johnson; his best friend, Dennis DiVincenzo; and his dear Aunt Theresa Bartkowski, whom he affectionately referred to as "Buddy, and his dog, Molly.
Viewing will be held at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Tuesday, Sept 22 from 10:00-11:00am. Celebration of Life service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00am with burial to follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Paul’s name to Faithful Friends.
