Obituary

Peggy Lee Filippone
Age 73 of Wilmington, passed away on March 5, 2024.
Peggy Lee Beavers was born to humble beginnings in Davy, West Virginia, making the best of what they had.
When she was 8 years old, Peggy moved to Wilmington, DE., with her mother, Juanita Parker, and brother, James Davis, seeking a better life.
She was a proud graduate in 1969 of Wilmington High School.
After high school, Peggy married and birthed 3 daughters and was a homemaker for 13 years.
Circumstances changed, and she embarked on a new chapter in her life, forcing her into the workforce and raising those 3 daughters on her own.
Peggy found her niche in retail where she went to work for Millers Furniture for 16 years. Peggy proudly finished her career as a manager at Drexel Hill Furniture.
However, her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and caring for others.
Peggy's compassion and empathy not only opened her heart to others it also opened her home to those in need of a safe loving place.
Her love not only became the center of her daughter's lives but her granddaughters as well. Peggy was deeply loved and will be immensely missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Juanita and Hugh Gilmore Parker, and her brother, James Manly Davis. Peggy's family would also like to mention the preceding death of her childhood friend, who was like a sister to her, Marcia Crouchelli.
Peggy leaves behind her cherished daughters, Amy Hubbard (William), Lauren Filippone (Tim Egleston), and Tiffany Wallace (Jim), and her granddaughters, Ava Protokowicz and Fiona Alice Wallace.
A celebration of life will be planned soon where we can come together and honor Peggy in a meaningful way.
The family asks instead of flowers, the contributions be made in Peggy's name to the
Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 Poplar Street, Wilmington, DE, or
Be Well at Wellspring Farm, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, DE 19809
