Obituary

Peter was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Old New Castle and given the name, Peter Anthony Mangini III. He was named after his grandfather, becoming the third generation to carry the family name. Peter was born on November 2, 1951. He was raised in the New Castle area, right outside of Old New Castle. He am the son of the late Peter Anthony Mangini, Jr., and the late Mary Ann (Octavio) Mangini. Peter was preceded in death by his brother, William E. Manini. Peter was a man of faith and so grateful to God for giving him such wonderful loving parents. Peter was also thankful for his grandparents, the late Pietro Antonio Mangini Sr., Rose (Alvini) Mangini and the late William E. Octavio, Susan (Tressler) Octavio. He was so grateful for the love they all gave to him.

Peter personally learned so much from his parents and grandparents about being rooted in family traditions. Every Sunday growing up, it was Sunday dinner for the whole family, at Grandmom Mangini's house and they all would also have wonderful family dinners at my grandmom Octavio's house. All gatherings were so enjoyable with wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins, home-made meals together. Always very close and truly were family to one another.

Peter's education started at a Catholic elementary school, the onto high school at De La Warr. After graduating, he enrolled in Cosmetology studies at Empire Beauty School in Wilmington. Upon graduation, Peter landed his first hairdressing job at Westover Beauty Salon in Greenville. He worked in several salons in the Wilmington area and had the opportunity to own his own salon. Peter Anthony Hair Designs LTD. Peter worked with many wonderful and talented professionals, who taught him so much, thank you all! Peter was also grateful to all my co-workers at Salon 926 and friend, Kerri Marioni, the owner. A big thank you to all his wonderful clients. Peter truly believed it was always a pleasure to see you all. He enjoyed your time together and you always made my day.

During his years working at Hair Salons, Peter also had the goal of getting my college degree which he did at Neumann College, Aston, PA and some years later, pursuing his master's degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Neumann University.

Peter enjoyed many years of volunteer work at Christiana Hospital/Pastoral Care, and The Ministry of Caring/Emmanuel Dining Rooms and for the AIDS Hotline at AIDS Delaware. The volunteer work was humbling for him, making him realize that every day is a gift.

Peter also found joy in singing for many years in the church choir at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and singing with the Rainbow Chorale of Delaware, bringing wonderful people together and lifting our voices up in song, was sacred, so good for the soul. Music touches people's hearts. He immensely enjoyed many travels throughout the years, especially to Italy.

Peter is survived in death by his dear and precious, Godmother Viginia (Ginny) Dennison, and his precious Aunt Amelia (Penny) Clementoni, his long-time dear friend, Tammy Wise, thank you for looking out for me always! His Godchildren, Bryan Deptula, Danielle Deptula, Reuben McVey, Kelli Brenner, and loving nephew Jonathan Armstrong, loving niece Samantha Andrews, all his dear cousins, and my loving long-time friends. Peter Loved You All!
