Obituary

Philip Anthony DiMedio, 84, passed away on January 21, 2021.

Phil grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended St. Elizabeth Elementary School, and he graduated from Salesianum School. He later earned a degree at Goldey-Beacom College. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. Phil then joined the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 37 years.
Phil loved sports and was a great role model. He enjoyed coaching his son Michael's baseball teams in the Newark National Little League and Senior League to winning seasons. He was a lifetime devoted Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed going to the games. He enjoyed playing chess and card games with friends and going to the horse races at Delaware Park. Above all, Phil loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was much loved in his community and everywhere he ran into someone he knew. One of his favorite activities was a monthly lunch with his lifelong friends, the Beech Street Boys. He loved to travel and took many great vacations with his family. His favorite thing was a trip to Italy with his wife, Angie.

Phil was the best husband, father, and pop pop. He was friendly, kind, funny, and always happy to see you.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Jenny DiMedio, and his son, Michael DiMedio. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Angeline; his daughter, Rosemarie (Matt) McCoury; his brother, Joseph (Kathy) DiMedio; his sisters, Anna (Jim) Brown, Marie Coburn, and Lucille (Tom) Caron; his grandchildren, Toni, Andrea, Nicole, Brittani, Matthew, Maria, Christina, and Max; his great-grandchildren, Angelina, Evan, Jonah, Elias, Astrid, and Mason; and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all.
