Obituary

Priscilla Ann Coffman- Veto entered into eternal life on June 21, 2023 , at Christiana Hospital after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her parents Steve and Winnie Gatrell of Morgantown, WV, and her son Nathan Charles Coffman of Melbourne Beach, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Alexander F. Veto of Williamstown, NJ.; her children, Christopher Steven Coffman of Morgantown WV and Leslie Marie Coffman of Melbourne Beach, Florida; her 3 grandchildren and her great granddaughter; her 3 sisters, Penny Dawson (and Frank)0f Blairs, Virginia, Pat Higgenbotham (and Chuck) of Westover, WV and Prudence Evans (and Duane) of Satsuma, Florida. She was also aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was born in Flint, Michigan on January 26, 1949 while her father was in the Air Force and subsequently lived in Michigan, Alaska, Illinois , Florida, Guam, and Virginia before making her home in West Virginia. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1967 and begun college pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. She married Robert D. Coffman in 1969, began her family and continued her schooling for the next several years. She graduated from Fairmont State College and continued on the Master's Degree in Education at West Virginia University. From that experience she became a avid lifelong Mountaineer Fan , especially of football. She began teaching at Ridgedale/Brown's Chapel as a second-grade teacher. Her nephew says that she was the best teacher he ever had !

Looking for further adventures and a better lifestyle, she applied and was accepted for a position in Germany in 1985. She was then employed for the next 33 years by the US Department of Dependent Schools, teaching in places like Bamberg, Kaiserslautern, and Vilseck, Germany, and also spent on year in Panama before retiring in 2017. While she was in Bamberg she met and married her husband Alex in June of 1990. After they were married, they traveled extensively throughout Europe and the US, visiting such places as Paris, Rome, Prague, Budapest, Dublin, London, and many more , including San Diego, New Orleans, Chicago, and Denver. Upon Alex's retirement in 2018 the retired to Old New Castle in Delaware where they resided until just before her passing.

Priscilla is best remembered for her kindness, friendliness, and her catching laugh. She will be missed also by the hundreds of students whose life she touched so greatly in her years of teaching.

An internment celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 31 at the Glebe Cemetery in New Castle, Delaware.
