Passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Jean was a Wilmington High School graduate and attended college at DelTech. She was an accountant until her retirement.

Jean was Delaware's first single woman to obtain a mortgage on her own. She was also an active member of Zion Lutheran Church; where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Jean loved to craft and decorate as well as dancing, wrestling, football and QVC. She was a devoted animal lover; adopting and donating to every charity her entire life. But above all Jean loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Eugene and Mary Priscilla Langrell, and her brother, Frank Langrell.

Jean will be dearly missed by her husband, Charles E. Walls, Jr; her sister, Vicki Shaw (Jim); her children, Charlene Pierce, Chuck Drummond (Carlos), and Carla Clark (Jim); her four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren, whom she adored.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6362 Bay Road, Frederica, DE 19946, on Thursday, August 27 at 1:30pm.
