Departed this life on Oct 24, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE.
Ralph was a lead lineman at Delmarva Power for 30 plus years and an employee for Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home for 13 years.
Ralph was a Life Active Member of 42 years with Goodwill Fire Company as President, Vice-President, Secretary, Vice- Secretary and Board of Director. He spent countless hours volunteering for the Gift of Life Family House in Philadelphia, PA., after his 2 kidney transplants. Ralph also was honored to transport our deceased soldiers from Dover Air Force Base to their final resting place for Krienen-Griffith Funeral Homes. He took great joy in riding his motorcycle to St. Michaels, MD, and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Marie (Palmer) and Paul Calvarese and his brother Anthony (Cal) Calvarese.
He is survived by his son, Paul Calvarese with whom he resided, his grandson, Wyatt Smith, his nephews, Matthew Calvarese and his wife Andrea of New Castle, DE, Daniel Calvarese of New York City and his cousin Diana M. Anderson of Claymont, DE.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 521 Harmony St, New Castle, on Friday, Oct 31, 2014 at 10:00am. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 34 W. 6th St., New Castle, on Thursday, Oct 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
