Obituary

Passed away peacefully on October 23rd, 2023 at Christiana Hospital with his family by his side.
DeRo lived a long and colorful life, filled with good times and laughter. His other nicknames included "Reds" and "Papa D".
DeRo was tough as nails but also had a heart of gold. He was always the coolest guy in the room. The world just got a little less fun without Papa D in it. He was also the most humble and hardworking man you could ever meet.
His career was spent as a ceramic tile setter, beautifying everything he touched. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, with stints in Germany and Austria. He was also a member of the Delaware National Guard.
His favorite things included listening to music, especially anything featuring the saxophone; summer rides in his custom pick-up truck, spending time with his family and friends, including great restaurant meals, wine, making people laugh, German Shepards and tinkering in his workshop.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Madelyn (DiVincenzo) DeRocili; his brothers, Anthony, Phillip, Roland, Rudolph, and Valentino; brothers-in-law, Armand DiVincenzo, Bernard DiVincenzo; and sister-in-law, Vincentta Troise.
DeRo is survived by his brother, John; sisters, Angela DiTaddeo, Florence Facciolo, and Dorothy Riley of Spring Hill, KS; and his sister-in-law, Rita Kochendorfer. He will also be dearly missed by his sons, Reynold DeRocili Jr and Dino DeRocili; his daughter-in-law, Shannon DeRocili; his granddaughter, Brenna DeRocili; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two best friends, Carlo Rossi (Paisano and Merlot).
A Private ceremony will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Cheaspeake City Rd. Bear, DE, 19701
In lieu of flowers the family ask contributions to be made to the American Lung Association, 625 N Governor Printz Blvd # 2, Essington, PA 19029.
