Richard Thompson, Sr.
Age 79, passed away at Christiana Hospital on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Richard was born on June 17, 1938 and was the son of the late Eugene and Agnes Thompson. He was a union pipefitter and a business agent for Local 80. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Steele and Arlene "Susie" Goad, and his brother, Eugene Thompson.
Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene. He is also survived by his children, Jacqueline, Richard, Jr., Deborah, and Elizabeth Gralewski (Ronald); his grandchildren, Rachael "O'Malley" and Jacob Gralewski, and Richard, Heidi, and Riley Thompson; his sister, Agnes Munden; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 North duPont Highway, New Castle, on Monday, March 12, at 11:00 am. A viewing will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel on Monday from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
