Rita A. Colmery, age 104, passed away on January 20, 2019 at Brandywine Nursing Home and Rehab Center, her residence for the past two years.

Rita was born on November 30, 1914, in Chicago, IL. She moved to Elsmere, DE in 1946 after marrying Earl C. Colmery. During the war, Rita worked in a factory that made meters. Later, she worked as a salesperson at Kennard's and Braunstein's department stores in Wilmington, DE.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her three brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Robert Comegys of Wilmington, DE, and Virginia and Michael LePore of Dover, DE. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Linda, Rita, Michael, Sandy, Tony, Amy, and Rob; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 more due in February and April.

A Service will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 11 am at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy, Elsmere, DE 19805. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10-11 am. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
