Rita Marie (Dennis) McBride

Rita M. McBride died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the age of 84.

She was born in West Wyoming, PA, came to Delaware and married the love of her life, George J. McBride, Jr.

Rita was a resident of Windsor Place, formerly of Oak Hill.

She was a longtime member of Corpus Christi R. C. Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, and a University of Delaware football season ticket holder for over 35 years.

Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She cherished spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to spending time with her sisters-in-law, Charlotte, Teresa Dennis, and Helen McBride. Rita always enjoyed playing Bridge with her many friends at her Bridge Clubs.

She was the daughter of the late Richard and Belinda (Jennings) Dennis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George J. McBride Jr., her son, Dennis M. McBride, Esq., her sister, Catherine Elleni; brothers, Richard, Thomas, William, Edward, Leo, and Donald Dennis. She is survived by her daughters, Donna J. McBride and Patricia M. Scherer; son, Kevin J. McBride and his wife Stefanie; her daughter-in-law, Patricia B. McBride; 9 grandchildren, Meghan and Brendan McBride, Brian and Michelle Lofink, Michael, Anthony, and Richard Lofink, Ashley Scherer, Ryan and Abigail McBride; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at Windsor Place and Compassionate Care for their devotion and care of Rita.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, July 9th. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
