Obituary

Passed away on February 12, 2016 after a short illness.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also a devout catholic. Bob was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in New Castle. Bob was born in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington HS in 1953. After graduation, he joined the army, serving in Korea. During his time in the service, he earned the rank of corporal. Upon his discharge from the Army, he married his beloved wife, Loretta (DiAngelo) Cook, with whom he shared the next 58 years. Bob was a dedicated letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for the 28 years in the city of New Castle. After he retired, Bob enjoyed taking care of his wife, Loretta, and playing his daily numbers as well as going to Brandywine racetrack and Delaware Park.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta; his parents, John and Cecelia Cook; his brother, John Cook; his sister, Joan Dudziec; his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cianfarino, Helen Vari, and Catherine DiAngelo; and brothers-in-law, Orlando and George DiAngelo.
Bob will be dearly missed by his son, Thomas and his wife, Lori; grandchildren, Tommy and Morgan Cook, his sister-in-law, Nora Cook, and his brother-in-law, Mario DiAngelo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 12 noon at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE. A viewing will take place at the church from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
