Obituary

Age 84, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. He was the son of the late Jeannie and Salvatore Guariano.

Bob, with his late wife, Mildred, were active members of both St. Elizabeth and Corpus Christi parishes, where he enjoyed being a Eucharistic Minister and member of the choir. His faith and his family were undoubtedly his most loved passions.

He honorably and very proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Instrument Technician. After service to his country, Bob worked very hard and enjoyed a long and successful career with three well-known organizations: first as a Carrier in New York with the Brooklyn Union Gas Company, and, after moving to Delaware, as an Instrument Technician with both Phoenix Steel and Delmarva Power (until retirement).
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Madeline Kennedy, Mina Walters, Jeanette Porcello, and his sister-in-law, Freda Piccarella.

A loving and devoted husband, father and pop-pop, Bob will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his children, Terry Fresconi (Danny), Maria Viscount (Tom), Lisa Guariano, Rob, Joe (Susan), and Sal (Nicole). Bob was also Pop-Pop to his beloved grandchildren, all of whom were the delight of his life, Salvatore, Angela, Nicholas, Sarah, Mia, Marissa, Robbie, Sal, Toni, AJ and Matthew. He is also survived by his siblings, Bernadette Pagano, Anna Vandyke, Eddie, Bill, and Tommy; his sister-in-law, MaryAnn Benfari; his brother-in-law, Joseph Piccarella; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved R.C. Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, on Monday, August 13, at 12 noon. A visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear DE.
