Obituary

Robert F. Hitchens formerly of Worton, MD, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 19, 2019.

Robert served his country in the the United States Air Force before starting his career as a pipe fitter.
He worked for 53 years with the Pipe Fitters Union, Local 80 which is now local 74.

Robert was a lover of the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Hitchens; and his "honey", Helen C. Kennard.

Robert is survived by his step son, Lewis John Lee, Jr.; grandchildren, Lewis John Lee III and Cindy (Harry) Hutchison; great grandchildren, Brielle and Broden Lee; great-great grandchildren, Kade and Kruise; nephew, Patrick (Marianne), with whom he lived, his great nieces, Melissa and Katie; as well as his siblings, Penny McMahan, Edward, Dan (Jim) and Ann Thomas (Jim).

Relatives and friends are invited the viewing for Robert on Friday, April 26 from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm Krienen Funeral Home, 101 West 6th St. New Castle, DE, with a service to follow at 3:00 pm. s Interment will be in the Glebe Cemetery.
