Robert F. (Bob) McKinney, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015, one day shy of his 87th birthday.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C. and Nellie T. McKinney; his brother, Charles, and his sister, Marie McKinney Moore; his first wife Mildred; his second wife, Hannah, and his third wife, Rose. He is survived by his niece, Peggy; his nephews, Don (Julie), Kevin (Shannon), and his namesake, Bob (Linda) as well as extended family and friends.

A 1948 graduate of Salesianum High School, Bob later earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Goldey-Beacom College and an Associate Degree in Human Services from Delaware Technical Community College. He was employed as a clerk in the engineering department of Joseph Bancroft and Sons from 1949 to 1964. Following that, Bob became the first full-time employee of United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, serving as Administrator there for six years. Physical disabilities forced his early retirement in 1970 at which point Bob dedicated his remaining years volunteering for many local social agencies and organizations.

A special thanks to Bob's lifelong Salesianum friends, who never excluded him from anything.

There will be no viewing. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Monday, July 6 at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
