Age 84, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital with his wife at his side.
Born in Wilmington on December 26, 1930 to the late Clara and Robert N. Spear, Robert was a 55 year resident of Elsmere. He retired in 1995 from the Methodist Country House after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, the back porch, and road trips with Delores, his wife of 59 years.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Spear; his four sisters, Ellen Scott, Katherine Lamb, Ann Tobin, and Jean Pedicone; his brother-in-law, Paul White, and his wife, Phyllis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 15, at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 905 New Road, Elsmere. Visitation will take place at the Church on Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Hospital, 701 North Clayton Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 in appreciation of the great care and compassion shown to Robert and our family.
