Roland D. Paige
Roland Deakyne Paige, age 82, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 30, 2013 with his family.
Roland was born in Wilmington on June 21, 1930, the son of the late Roland A. and Vera Deakyne Paige.
He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He then went on to a career with Delmarva Power retiring after 30 years of service.
Roland enjoyed the outdoors, visiting Rehoboth Beach and his back porch, but what he enjoyed and cherished most was his family.
Roland was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances T. Paige. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and brother. He is survived by his son, Kenny Paige and wife Tammy; his daughter, Denise Ponte and husband Jim; four grandchildren, Justin Paige and wife Gina, Danielle Paige and fiance' Bobby Stewart, Kimberly Truman and husband Woody, Angelique Ponte-Hein and husband Rick; and four great grandchildren, Ellwood, RJ, Crystal, and Marissa. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 am. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, DuPont Pkwy., New Castle.
