Ronald G. Hamm, Sr., age 76, passed away at home on Saturday, December, 5, 2020.
Ron was born on February 16, 1944 to the late Alice (Testerman) and Chester Hamm. Following high school, Ron joined the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War. He would often say that he was a "Proud Marine Vet". After his time in Vietnam (1964-68), Ron met and married Lorraine. They resided in Elsmere. They were married for 29 years until her passing in April 1998. Ron worked as a stockman for GM until he retired.
Ron spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his son and brothers. They especially enjoyed their time camping and fishing at Indian River Inlet. He would spend every Sunday fishing, and he would spend every Saturday hunting during the season from the mid 1970's through the 1990's. He enjoyed doing handyman jobs around anyone's house and chatting online with computer friends. He loved his yellow lab, Roxy, who passed away in early 2000 and his Bishon, Abby, who passed away in 2019. Ron will always be remembered as a wonderful and kind man.
Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Henry, and Spencer; and sister, Gladys McDaniels.
He is survived by his son, Ron, Jr., and his wife Connie; his grandchildren, Madeline Hamm and Brandon Hamm; sisters, Mary Baer and Charlotte McCool; brother, Howard Hamm; his girlfriend of 20 years, Sandy Balik; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
