Ruth Laverne DiVincenzo

Age 95 of Millsboro, Formerly Wilmington

Passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2025.

Ruth was one of three daughters born to the late James B. and Helen (Richardson) Drummond. She grew up in Wilmington attending Brown Vo Tech High School. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Armando DiVincenzo.

Ruth was an exceptionally hard worker. She was employed at several companies throughout her life including, Bancroft Mills, Delaware Solid Waste Authority, and Acme. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a contributing member of the workforce until the age of 90.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Anthony Church in Wilmington and Mary Mother of Peace Church in Millsboro. Even when Ruth physically couldn't attend mass, she still watched every week on TV.

Ruth loved the beach life and enjoyed the time spent on the family boat. She was a doting grandmother and loved to cook for everyone in her family. But Ruth will be remembered most for her kind heart and giving nature.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Armando, and her sisters, Marian Parsons and Dorothy Bellafore.

She leaves behind her loving children, Nancy Balback and John DiVincenzo and his wife, Kathie; her 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Accent Care Hospice as well as her longtime caretakers, Angie, Regina, Melissa, and Samantha, for their dedicated and compassionate care of Ruth in her final years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church ,905 New Rd., Wilm., DE 19805, on Thursday Mar 20 at 12noon. Friends may call at the church from 11:00am-12:00noon. Interment will follow mass at Cathedral Cemetery.
