Passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 25,2014.
Sandra was born in Wilmington, DE to Margaret Agnes [Quinn] Walter and John Krysztoforski on June 3, 1939. She attended Saint Paul's, and remained close friends with many of her classmates through the years. Immediately after graduation, Sandy married her high school sweetheart and life long dance partner, Lawrence. In their early years, Sandy and Larry, were a popular dance couple and appeared on locally televised dance programs as well as the Steel Pier show.They were married for 53 years. Larry forever worshiped the ground Sandy walked on. Sandy and Larry settled and raised a family in Elsmere, DE which Sandy referred to as "God's Country".
Sandy was a beautiful, stylish woman of impeccable taste. She was a social and outgoing person. Sandy was a gracious and generous host to family, friends and relatives;especially at Holidays and to the aging members of the family. Sandy loved the Jersey Shore,dancing with Larry, Delaware Park, nights out with the girls,her pool and most of all her family.
Sandy loved to work as much as she played. She was still working just weeks before her passing. For the past 24 years, Sandy worked exclusively for Attorney Rich Abrams as his executive legal secretary. Sandy was his trusted confidant, steadfast mother figure as well as his sharp-witted comic relief through both their professional and personal lives. She will truly be
irreplaceable.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence T.. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Laure[Troy] and Andrea[Scott]; 2 sons, Lawrence[Connie] and Nicholas[Cindy]; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Shawn, Matthew, Danny and Angel; her cousins, raised with her as her siblings; Cecelia Guckin of Philadelphia, PA and James Mahoney of Lewes,DE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 1, at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, DE 19805. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at 10:30 am at the church, prior to Mass. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Lung Association in DE, 630 Churchmans Road Suite 202 Newark, DE19702.
