Sara Ann Snook

Age 86 of New Castle

Passed away on July 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 23, 1938, to Charles and Grace Cox in Ephrata, PA.

Sara graduated from Shippensburg University in 1960 where she met the love of her life, Glenn Snook. They married and moved to New Castle, DE where she was devoted to teaching the homebound and First State Hospital School. She was also a tour guide for Old New Castle Historical Society in her retirement.

Sara was a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church, a Friend of New Castle Library and Book Club, and a member of the New Castle Senior Center.

An avid reader, Sara also enjoyed antiques, flowers, and bird watching. Most of all, she loved her family. She supported every activity of her sons and grandchildren with enthusiasm and kept her family gathered with Sunday dinners that will always be cherished memories.

Besides her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, and her grandson, Jesse.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Valerie) and Matt (Karen); grandchildren, Tyler (Lauren), Josh (Kirsten), Nathan (Sara), Erin Bradford (Rob), Kassi Dunphy (Ryan); and great granddaughter, Emerson.

Friends are invited to attend the service at New Castle United Methodist Church, 510 Delaware St., New Castle, DE 19720, on July 16 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at 10:30am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to New Castle United Methodist or New Castle Library, or the Senior Center.
