"Seadog"

December 18, 1960 - July 23, 2026

Sean Patrick Gallagher passed from this life into the next on July 23, 2026. Born and raised in New Castle, Sean was a Collins Park legend and a lifelong presence in the

Community. He was 65 years old. He now stands, ever inquisitive, in the presence of his Lord.

Sean was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. Gallagher, Sr. and Jean F. Gallagher; his beloved sister, Ellen Barlow; and his brothers-in-law, Pete Toner and Don Hall. Left behind to miss him, laugh at his stories, cry for his loss and mourn "Seadog's" passing are his sisters, Mary Jean Hall, Paula Toner, Pat Celli (Bundo), Monica Gallagher, and Jill Kendall (Gene); his brothers, Thomas "Tuck" Gallagher (Barbara) and Vincent Gallagher (Vicki); and his brother-in-law, Charlie Barlow. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, "as numerous as the stars in the sky." Sean was also the father of six children.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Pike Creek

Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Seadog during his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th Street New Castle, DE 19720, from 10:30 am -12:00 pm on August 12, 2026. The Celebration of Life service will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Peters R.C. Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit/St. Peter R.C Church, 521 Harmony Street New Castle, DE 19720 in Sean's memory
