Shane J. Harrington

Age 34, died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Christiana Hospital.

"He lived, played, and fought like a champion".

Shane was a 1993 graduate of St. Elizabeth's High School. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware and attained his Law Degree from the Widener Law School. He practiced law in Philadelphia for the past 10 years. Shane worked as a bartender at a number of the local bars and restaurants to put himself through school.

He was an avid sports fan and loved the Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame Football. He was a member of the Mulrooney's Parade Group and Defiance A.A.

He was the son of the late William P. Harrington. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine (McElrone) Harrington; brothers, Sean Harrington and his wife Mary Beth, Brian Harrington and his wife Amy, William P. Harrington Jr. and his wife Mary; his nieces, Meghan, Mary Kate, Amanda, and Samantha; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Friday, June 11th at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Private entombment at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
