Spencer Burr
Age 94, Spencer Burr died peacefully on Sunday June 3, 2012, at his home in Wilmington, surrounded by his closest friends.

Spencer was born in Brockton, MA, on July 21, 1917. Spencer and his family later moved to Elkton, MD, where he graduated from Elkton High School.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and retired in 1984 from Wilmington Fibre Specialty Company as Sales Manager. A member of Elsmere Presbyterian Church for sixty years, he was a choir member and elder. He also served on numerous committees.

Spencer was the son of the late Charles B. and Helen F. Moody Burr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth S. Burr, and siblings Francis B., Paul M., Charles B. and Helen M. Burr. He is survived by his very good friend Shawn Coen and his family as well as his niece Carolyn Caswell and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Elsmere Presbyterian Church, 606 New Rd. Elsmere, on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10-11 am. Interment will be private.
