Sue Chung Rein
On Friday, May 9th, Sue Chung Rein of Newark, Delaware died from lung cancer. She never smoked nor did anyone in the family.
Sue was born in Yongin-si, Geyeonggi-do, South Korea on February 26, 1955. She spoke English fluently. Because of this, she was able to find work at Osan Air Base. It was there that she met and married Robert Collins Rein, Sr. Two years later they had a daughter, Erin Louise Rein. A year after that was a son, Robert Collins Rein, Jr.
She was an intricate member of the Delaware Korean Baptist Church on North duPont Highway assisting many members as a translator. She also loved singing, was a member of the church choir, and sang every day until she passed despite the cancer robbing her of her vocal chords.
She loved the Lord and showed it every day. When diagnosed with lung cancer in late 2012, her first response was that she would see the Lord sooner then she had thought.
Sue retired from the Christina School District Department of Transportation after 18 years of service. She enjoyed being a school bus driver almost as much as singing.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, Sr.; her daughter Erin; and her son, Robert, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to the attend the Service and visitation at Delaware Korean Baptist Church, 219 North duPont Highway, New Castle, DE on Sunday, May 18, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Friends are also welcome to gather at the church on Monday, May 19, at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE at 1:00 pm.
