Obituary

Age 89, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 27, 2013.

Formerly a resident of Conshohoken, PA, Ted was a retired Teamster from Local 384 and was employed by TOSE , Inc. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was stationed with the Fourth Marine Division in the South Pacific for over three years. He made beach landings on four separate invasions of enemy held islands and survived combat on Saipan, Tinian, Roi-Namur and Iwo Jima. He was immensely proud of his service in the Corps and was always a Marine.

He played semi-pro football for the Norristown Red Roses and was known as "Footsie" for his lightning speed on the field and played throughout the Pennsylvania coal region. Ted was an accomplished hunter and avid thoroughbred horse racing enthusiast. He was an active member in the Marine Corps League Valley Forge Detachment #312.

Ted was the son of the late William Harrison and Mary Ann (Clark) Plush. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Francis. Ted is survived by his wife of 63 years, Stella (Zabrowski) Plush; his son, Theodore Plush and his wife, Kathy; and his daughter, Mary Kay Krienen and her husband, Bill. Ted had six grandchildren: Dr. Ted III and his fiancée, Megan, Jonathan and his fiancée, Jackie, Maureen, Kaitlyn, Will, and Brianna Rose. He is also survived by his older brother, William of Tennessee.

Family and friends are invited to visit the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 8:30-10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph on the Brandywine R.C. Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE at 10:30AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
