Theresa L. Fagan (Giannone)

Theresa L. Fagan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2011surrounded by her loving family.

Theresa was born on May 3, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Vincenzina Giannone. She was the sixth of eight children, and the last remaining sibling.

Theresa grew up in Wilmington, Delaware in Little Italy and graduated from Wilmington High School. She worked for Haldas Brothers for many years before meeting and marrying her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas J. Fagan, Sr. Theresa and Tom shared great happiness and dedicated their lives to raising their three children, Zina, Tom Jr., and Rich. In addition she willingly provided loving care for nearly eight years to her sister, Nette. Theresa and Tom were also mainstays at St. Thomas R. C. Church.

Theresa's children will always remember her as a loving, caring, and selfless mother whose greatest joy was providing for her family.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Zina M. (Fagan) Walsh (James), and 2 sons, Thomas J. Fagan, Jr. (Roseanne) and Richard J. Fagan (Cynthia). Further, Theresa leaves 6 grandchildren to cherish her memory: Katherine (Walsh) Berg (Brian), Philip Walsh, Timothy Fagan, Molly Fagan, Adam Fagan, and Erica Fagan. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas R.C. Church, 301 N. Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington on Wednesday March 23rd at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. Interment is at All Saints Cemetery, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Theresa's memory may be made to either, St. Thomas R.C. Church, 301 N. Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington, DE 19805, or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.
