Theresa Ann Waltz
Age 82 of New Castle

Passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 with her family by her side.

Theresa was one of four daughters born to the late James and Helen (Young) McHugh. She grew up in Old New Castle and was a proud graduate of St. Peter's High School. In 1965 Theresa married the love of her life, Donald Waltz, Sr. Together they spent many happy years raising their family.

Theresa was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, where she was an active volunteer. She enjoyed her work at American Greetings Card Co. for over 15 years. She was an avid reader and always felt a great sense of peace at the beach or walking by the river at Battery Park. Theresa had many lifelong friends from New Castle who still often got together through their membership in the Red Hats Society. Theresa felt her true calling in life was to be a wife and mother, that was until her grandchildren were born. She was an ever-doting Mom-mom who moved mountains for her grandchildren. She was happiest with her family by her side.

In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Bacon and Marie Severin.

She will be dearly missed by her sons, Don and his wife, Barbara, and Jim and his husband, David; her grandsons, Jonathan (Kaitlyn), Joshua, and Jacob; and great grandson, Jameson. Theresa is also survived by her sister, Patty Schmidt and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima, 801 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE, on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Theresa's name to the Dementia Society of America or St. Jude's Children Hospital
