Thomas P. Murphy, 81, passed away March 10, 2014, peacefully at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan Murphy. He was the son of the late John and Mary Murphy.

He graduated from Salesianum School in 1950. He joined the Navy for two years and was in the reserves. He graduated from the University of Delaware and then Temple Law School. He was a patent attorney for many years. They loved vacationing down the New Jersey Shore with all of the family. He loved sports. He was a Phillies and Eagles fan. Tom retired from Perkin/Elmer and gave up his career as a successful and accomplished patent attorney to dedicate his life to caring for his wife, Joan, throughout her illness. Tom's family would like to thank all of his caregivers during his failing health. He was very generous and gave to several charities.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine, and his brother, John. He is survived by four children, Noreene Campbell and her husband John, Thomas, Kevin and Michael; and his grandchildren, Megan Bogart and her husband Daniel, Lauren Campbell, Robert Campbell, Caitlin Murphy, and Shelby Miranti.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes R. C. Church, 233 West Gay St., West Chester, PA on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 am Monday morning. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery.
