Obituary

Willard C. Chitwood

Age 93, died Saturday, June 27th at Christiana Hospital.

Willard settled in Wilmington in 1975. He owned and operated the B&W Builders for over 35 years and traveled throughout the country building more than 35 Rustler Steak House Restaurants.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and served as a Gunners Mate aboard the U.S.S. Arkansas.

Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Christine (Robertson) Chitwood; his son, Bobby; his sisters, Peggy Turman and Isabelle Bowles; and brother, Oliver Chitwood. He is survived by his son, Michael Chitwood and his wife Lola of New Castle; his granddaughter, Kendra Earvase and her husband Jeff; his sisters, Madeline Brown and her husband Kenneth, and Edith Perdue; his brothers, Clifton Chitwood and his wife Nadine, and Ulis Chitwood.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear on Thursday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
