Obituary

William F. Rhoads
Age 80, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Christiana Hospital.
Bill retired from the Delaware Army National Guard, attaining the rank of full Colonel after 42 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was an accomplished marksman in both rifle and pistol and served many times on the Gov. "10" Team.
Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. One of his great joys was the many years spent with his family at Crystal Beach Manor.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and was devoted to the Phillies and Eagles.
He was the son of the late Donald M. and Mary T. (Daniels) Rhoads. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald M. Rhoads, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Doris N. (Walls) Rhoads; his daughter, Mary "Snookie" Quinn (Robert); his son, William L. Rhoads (Michelle); his sister, Maryanne Whitehead (Harry); his brothers, Kenneth C. Rhoads, and Robert V. Rhoads (Patricia); his beloved grandchildren, Ryann, and Dusty; and his great grandchildren, Steven, Justin, Talia, and Cassidy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2013 at 1 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30-1pm Thursday. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
